God never promised
the sky is always blue
whole way of life filled with flowers - flowers
God did not promise
sun without rain
happiness without the willingness
peace without suffering
But God promises
strength for each day,
for rest after hard work,
light to illuminate the road,
grace for the trials - trials,
help from above,
unfailing sympathy
and love that never dies
